Up for sale is a tough variation of an already tough-to-find Canadian insuator style. This H.B.R. CD 145 is an unusual blue-aqua colour. I obtained a number of these H.B.R. CD 145s from a collection I purchased a couple years back, but amongst the pieces in the collection, the majority of the H.B.R.s were normal light aqua shades. Only a small minority were these crisp, bright blue aqua colour. It is noticeably different from the normal light aquas that most Canadian beehives come in. This H.B.R. was made using a mould which previously read "E.D.R.", as highlighted by the unusual shape of the "B". The bright blue glass is contrasted nicely by a prominent amber swirl in the front skirt behind the embossing. This swirl extends around the left side of the insulator and into the rear skirt.

The condition of this piece is fantastic, with just a tiny, 1/8" wide flakelet on the front outer base edge below the "H" - barely noticeable. There is also a minor amount of scratching in the wire groove. All in all, a shining, VNM condition example of a tough colour!
