Up for sale is this nifty little transposition style which was used somewhat extensively throughout Ontario and other parts of Canada. Despite its relatively common usage, these rarely seem to turn up! Up until this year I had only turned a single one up, but this year has produced two intact and a few broken examples. This piece came from a small collection of miscellaneous telephone and telegraph insulators which originated from the Tobermory, Ontario area. This piece is nice, clear, clean aqua glass with a few amber swirls mixed throughout. Normal straw marks and bubbles, and all in all a good-looking insulator! The condition of this piece is pretty good, with the main damage being a 1/2" by 1/2" flat flake on the underside of the very chipping-prone upper umbrella on the side with the "No. 2" embossing. On the same side there is a 1/4" open bubble on the base edge. This damage is shown in the right half of this photo composite. The piece displays mint, and would be a great addition to any collection! I'm asking $24.00 U.S. plus shipping for this piece. I accept PayPal, money orders or bank cheques, or personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I have dealt with before. Please feel free to look through my previously unsold items in the "For Sale (Not Sold)" folder, and combine purchases to save on shipping. |
