This scarcely offered porcelain no-tie insulator was recovered in Spain. Condition is VNM with 2 flakes- one showing in the photo and the other is on the base of the reverse tie hook (both are smaller than pinky nail) and wire rub mark between the hooks. 3" wide x 5 3/8" tall. Oddly, pinhole is only 5/8" wide! Normally pinholes smaller than an inch wide are attributed to insulators of English origins (but there are exceptions)! Style is depicted in 1896 Spanish insulator catalog but the neck is stouter and there is not a groove inside the slot and the hooks are narrower. Base is unglazed and surface is unusually bumpy and crude. So the evidence proves that this example is a no-tie made by Buller & Jobson of England, which dates it to circa 1885, where their catalog states it was exported to Spain.

First email gets this very hard to find early porcelain no-tie insulator for $400 postpaid USA. $410 Canada. Thanks!
