Up for sale is a Canadian classic: the "Golden Boy" CD 145 in a glowing, vibrant yellow straw colour. This one is the [010] embossing style. I see this colour name has recently been added to the new price guide, so I'm going to run with it. I was lucky enough to turn up about 2 dozen of these when I first began collecting about 10 years ago, but I have no seen any more turn up around here since. They are always the more washed out straw or peach tones - beautiful in their own right, but no where near as nice as this piece. Certainly more vibrant than normal straw shades encountered in other Canadian Diamond-Flint products, this piece is absolutely gorgeous in natural light. The colour of the insulator does not show well in the photo, and more photos are available on request. The piece has a great "whittled" texture across its whole surface, and man is it ever a thick, heavy, "crystal ball" of an insulator. The insulator itself weighs in at almost a pound and a half. The glass is filled with small micro-bubbles, and there is a great "suture" mark on the dome where two blobs of glass apparently joined while the piece was being poured. The condition of the piece leaves nothing to be desired - looks like the only damage is some scratching in the wire groove. The glass is clean like the day it was made (lye works wonders). I would call it VNM at least. I'm asking $20.00 U.S. plus shipping for this fantastic insulator. I accept PayPal, money orders or bank cheques, or personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I have dealt with before. Please feel free to look through my previously unsold items in the "For Sale (Not Sold)" folder, and combine purchases to save on shipping. Album Up to the For Sale |
