This 23kv to 4kv sub 70 miles east on the north shore of Long Island is another example of old school construction: grasshopper switches, small single -phase transformers, crowfoot potheads to boot. Taken down when 69kv to 13kv subs were put in in the 1970s. 23kv & 4kv are now gone.
