On the left - CD 164 [160] McLAUGHLIN - 20 with Round Drip Points (RDP) in an excellent citrine with a lot of color banding as can be seen in the picture that is especially strong in the skirt. Fine bubbles throughout. Just about mint condition as I can see. On the right - CD 122 [010] McLAUGHLIN / NO. 16 with Round Drip Points (RDP) also in an excellent citrine. There is what looks to be a small number 4 embossed in the middle of the wire groove on the back. This is an unusual place for embossing. There are some darker sine wave stringers in the skirt most evident above and through the McLaughlin embossing. Fine bubbles throughout as well. There is a small shallow brain profile shaped flake on the top flat part of the dome measuring about 1/4 of an inch. Its odd how it may have occurred and could very well pass for a manufacturing defect. I would consider it mint if it were not for this small blemish. I've had the opportunity to view a number of what were labeled as citrines over the past year and I am confident that these are both excellent examples of the color with nice character. Priced individually $550.00 for the CD 164 (Sold for $475 plus shipping) and $200.00 for the CD 122. Take the pair for $700.00. That's an additional $50 savings! If you have been looking for a pair of the better McLaughlin citrines, this is your opportunity. Use 'View Original' to appreciate the character. First email as always! |
