Another one in my collection of old subs- this one was originally built in1925 using 33kv AC stepping down to 600vdc with rotary converters. Notice the interesting multiparts, potheads, and arrestors here. This was taken down in the 1990s and replaced with rectifiers. Sub in background is a Con Ed one stepping down to 4kv.
