At left is an insulator marked " No. 42 Y". Of unknown manufacture, this particular item is an embossing modification to a late Cristalerias de Chile intertwined C logo style CD 154. The C logo has been removed, and a "Y" added after the unchanged No. 42 embossing. Only 3 have surfaced at this point, one of which was destroyed during shipping. This example is about NM condition - in addition to the large wire rim chip seen in the photo, there are 3 smaller wire rim chips in the rear, a number of pings and 3 damaged drips. There is a rosy SCA tone in the dome which has not shown well in the photo. I can't even begin to describe what color this insulator is, other to say that the photo is accurate except as described in the previous sentence. $28

Center is a "Y" T.S 23 in light SCA. The last one that sold here in ICON commanded a price in the $500 range if my memory serves me correctly. This is not as dark as that one, but it is a spectacular color for a modern insulator. There is a miniscule bruise, barely more than 1/8" high, on the inside of the skirt at bottom. $135 SOLD

At right is an extraordinary piece of South American glass. Again, of unknown manufature based on a Cristalerias de Chile late style CD 154, but this insulator has been molded without drip points. The C logo has been removed. The most interesting thing about this piece is what has been done to the catalog number embossing. The "No." remains exactly like a C de C, then a "-45" has been added after the unchanged "42", finally a "Y" embossed at the end. "No. 42-45 Y". Maybe someone from Gayner went down there and taught them how to hyphenate. Regardless, one of two in existence at this date. Chip as shown in the front and ping on rear of dome, another ping on rear skirt. $60 SOLD
