Click onto "View Original" for a great look of this old-time wooden bracket, the rest of the insulators and the hardware that was on this pole. Btw...Looks like this chap caught himself either the catch of the day or an old rubber boot, lol!

Added notes: It looks like there might be a bit more connected to that boot, maybe? There are two diagonal bolts or lag screws affixing the braced crossarm to the pole.
