A tower of power (good band!) jungle near Sellwood Park in Portland, OR. This is looking west toward the Willamette (will-lamm-et) River, The 2 distant PGE towers are east side towers of a river crossing. The older one on the right was constructed in 1911. It was carrying 57,000 volts until recently in this photo (1980's) when it was decommissioned for dismantling. That circuit was now on the right side of the new crossing tower to the left. Notice that the KPF switches on the old line to the right are open, cutting dead the old river crossing line. I took the photo thru another tower I was standing under, built in 1911 to carry 57kV lines to Portland from water power dams to the east.
