This is absolutely the last railroad open wire in Portland, Oregon. I have not lived in Portland now for 4 years so imagine my surprise when traveling on N. Columbia Blvd. and it was STILL THERE!! It really does not go very far in any direction from this junction pole but I suspect maybe some wires are really used for signals, otherwise this stuff would be gone! The U.P. train is heading north toward the Columbia River bridge to Vancouver WA.
