On the left is an unlisted foreign porcelain insulator that has gold glaze added to the crown (except for the saddle groove) and has a low-fire decal added to the skirt. The insulator does not have an inner skirt and is 2.5" wide x 3 7/16" tall. The decal says in large letters (skirt) Le Monde / Redaction, Administraton : 5 rdes Italiens, Paris-IXe - Directeur : Hubert HEUVE MAR. On the inner skirt in gold, handwritten ink: MYRIAM / ITALIA, some wear to the gold, mint condition insulator. Le Monde (The World) is a French newspaper, $75 postpaid. On the right is about a U-1660 (2 7/16" wide x 3 5/8" tall) probably made by Richard Ginori. The top is trimmed in gold (except the saddle groove) as well as the side groove. Around the top is a decal that was attached to the insulator in a reglazing process. The lettering around the crown reads: POUR VOS MESSAGES TELEPHONES... [translation: For your telephone messages]. On the skirt, it gives you the words to use to represent each letter of the alphabet, e.g., A comme Anatole, B comme Berthe C comme Celestin, D comme Desire, etc. light wear on the gold, mint condition insulator. $75 postpaid. |
