Wandered into a small antique/second hand store I hit every once in awhile and saw several very common insulators. The last booth had this beauty. I was pretty surprised to see it since Montana is not the usual place for one of these. It's a M-2795 top and it's in pretty decent shape. You can see the one chip it has right along side the spout. There is also about one inch of roughness along the bottom edge, a few hairline cracks in the glaze (no glaze missing) and that's it. Found all in one piece but the glass base is broken off. Anybody got a base? The color in real life looks to me like a dirty yellow olive green or maybe even the fabled Septic Enchilada. In the pics it looks tan but I don't have the best camera for color. Anyway, it's very cool to have one of these - it's a piece I never figured to have in the collection, especially since I'm not too much of a mud guy, but who can turn it down. |
