Note one of the square poles in the foreground. A lot of those were used in the greater Boston vicinity. The Hingham Municipal Light Plant (MA) (Boston suburb) had their last one in service until around 1984. It was chestnut like most others installed on their system around 1900. The Belmont (MA) Municipal Light Department also had a lot of them. A number of them survived well into the 1990s and it would not surprise me if a few are still in service within that Boston suburb.
