Old PG&E Pole With Old Can

This old Pacific Gas & Electric pole is in full view from our friend's front porch in Jackson, Amadore County, California. My pal Bob likes the old transformer and says he will keep an eye on it and ask for it when it is removed. He may get it soon since the woodpeckers are pecking holes in this pole! But, as my fellow power geek Dave Dahle pointed out, the can has a yellow tag on it indicationg it contains PCB's in the oil. So, sorry Crush, you may not get it after all !

Note the clear CD 164 secondary insulators. One is green but not visible in this pic. I took the photo in 2005 when we were there previously. It is still there now! Everything is obsolete on it but still in faithful service. To see the woodpecker damage, click NEXT.
