The Mountain States Power Co. steam power plant in Tillamook, Oregon. This is one of 2 company photographs, taken before the 1960's when this plant dissapeared. The plant is located on a salt water slough of Tillamook Bay but was actually at the north end of "downtown". Input to the plant was 'slabwood' as seen in the stacks of it. It was often brought in by barge or train since Tillamook is in the "Land of Wood". Output of the plant was 22,000 volts, which fed 11,000 and 2300 volt distribution systems. Today not a trace of the plant exists except a few pilings in the water.
