Here's another shot of this unlisted Smooth base CD 134 Patent 1871 piece. I have tried photographing it in different types of lighting to try and make it NOT appear straw...........but always appears straw nonetheless. I've counted out the possibility it could've been nuked or bake, etc. I've e-mailed a couple other collectors about it also. The piece comes from a fairly reputable collector from the past and I believe had it been altered he would've disclosed that. This piece also has a small chip..........most altered insulators tend to be in mint condition, seems no one would pick a damaged insulator to go through an altering process. When compared with another straw 1871 134 I have with SDP's, they both have a fair amount of milk in them also which is strange. I know that not all straw insulators have milk...........but still somewhat proves it to be authentic straw.
