Made a stop at the Grand Coulee Dam the other day. The amount of power generated here is staggering. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the MASSIVE switchyards up the hill from the dam. There are so many transmission lines leaving this area, I counted at least 2 500kV double circuit lines with 3 parallel conductors per phase! Along with several single circuit 500kV lines and many more 345kV lines. Here's a shot of one of the circuits leaving one of the three powerhouses.
