This pole was in Oceanside, Oregon several years ago. The large fog bell suspension insulators were installed in the 1950's by Pacific Power and were used in the area as oversized dead ends to combat salt air and fog causing power leakage. Recently I was able to obtain one of these in use in my home town, It is a GE with a 1958 date. But it is not orange-brown like these. The photo is at a tricky angle making it look like a 2 wire delta connection to the transformer. But it is really a 24,940 volt open wye line. The closest phase wire serves the transformer thru the skyyuk S&C cutout at 14,400 volts. The other phase is a single phase tap taking off on a line heading north! Note the heavy weight of the fog bells, drooping down as they keep the slack No.6 copper wires up. A clue that the actual pole was installed pre-1954 by Mountain States Power is the way the Johnny ball insulator is cut in to the guy wire to the ground. It is secured with U-bolt clamps!
