This substation was built in 1968 (the last retail town this company picked up - it was previously served by a neighboring utility; when the original 23.9kV transmission line could no longer handle the growing load, the original utility transferred it over to this utility as their 41.6kV network surrounded the towns that were on the older 23kV line). But take a look at the dead-end disks... JD disks - 1920 patent style, no less! I DO wonder how many JD disks they had to have on hand if they were using them WELL into the 1960s!
