is when you see one worth photographing! I'd taken a mediocre photo of this municipal 34.5kV line about 4 years ago and only got around to getting back there today to reshoot the picture. Trouble is, the municipal is now in the process of scrapping the 34.5kV system in favor of a new 115kV system. This was also the only municipal utility in SD that used 10" glass disks in their system. While this leg of the substation loop system used 5-disk strings, other corner poles on this system near the transmission sub north of town had 3-disk strings, hence my belief this system is / was 34.5.
