Here is an unexpected treat from the Rohde Ranch Tailgater of 2011. This sharp dripped Cal specimen, embossing index CD 161 [015] comes from a very old southern California collection. According to my GSIC seller, the widow said her husband, the insulator collector, would spend a bunch of time in the desert with friends to look for things and probably came back with this insulator from one of his trips. I believe this is a new, unreported addition to the 12 or 13 sharp dripped Cals that were first found. There are three listed colors in the price guide: light purple, sage green and a smokey peach. This looks like a straight smoke color to me. Thanks Dave !! |
