here's a scan of an early futuristic sci-fi drawing called "Les Aerocabs" by French artist Albert Robida (1848-1926). Robida was what many consider to be the first true "modern" sci-fi artist. The drawing depicts Robida's thoughts that people in the future would travel in flying taxi cabs. Note the cool looking French insulators in the photos. Those power pieces ones on top look like Imperials to me!
