Here's a nice little ''keg'' insulator with a very large three-dimensional five-point star embossed on the front. The reason these are nicknamed ''keg'' insulators is because they resemble a beer keg. This one comes in a great shade of Bright Yellow Green It's a Little Brighter Than Normal and Looks Really Great in the Window. Condition: Overall It's in Excellent Condition There Are a Few Pecks Here and There, but That's to Be Expected for Piece That's Close to a Hundred Years Old. This one was used on old telephone line and West Texas. The reason for the two grooves in the insulator is because as the telephone line ran down the road it would come to a place where there was a business or house. At that junction the wire had to drop from the line into the house. The drop wire was tied onto the lower wire group and that's why they needed to grooves to be used at that point. The top grooves for the regular line and the lower groove held the wire that went into the house. For this reason there were not as many ''kegs'' used as ponies and they are a bit harder to find.
