Photo taken in 1973 near one of the main entrances to the DelAmo Mall which is a quarter mile down the street. You folks who have seen the movie "Jackie Brown" that debuted in 1997 will be familiar with this area. At any rate SCE (Southern California Edison) was using horizontal line posts along their 69 kv double circuit as seen here. I believe this "crossarm-free" method of high voltage line submission started to become a lot more popular with SCE and those in the LA basin in coming years (the vintage stuff always looked a LOT better to me!). |
