Los Angeles, Vermont-Slauson, Open-Wire Lines Galore!

Photo taken during August 1969. With the exception of the paired-cable seen along the left below the open wire line everything else you see here was constructed via good old-fashioned open-wire methodology!

A neat single-circuit subtransmission circuit probably at 34.5kv is seen along the right along with a pendant style span-wire incandescent street light that operated from a 6.6 ampere series circuit. Distrubution lines at 4kv are below the high voltage lines with secondaries for customers right below. It is possible the lowermost crossarm with the solitary two wires was for fire alarm operation.
