Update : Don't know if anyone noticed but the Brookfield pony is a natural leaner. It leans towards the west, I mean left. Didn't realize this factor when I posted the pic. Saw and measured afterwards. The base to the WG guide least 1/8 " more on the right side then it does on the left side. Right- Remember the CD 134 with the big rock I posted a pic of 2 weeks ago? Well this Steel Blue McLaughlin CD 252 came from the same antique shop that is a good 80 miles away from home plate. On my previous trip I left it behind being the asking price seemed somewhat high in my opinion. Yesterday I walked it over to the window for a better look. It was then that I noticed there was purple swirls in the heavy thick ears. While taking my pic to post here in the hunt and find album I also noticed there is what looks like sage green present around the purple as well. This one looks better and better every time I look at it it seems. Well that isn't quite the wholw truth. I thought only one of the many, many small SDP's was flaked. Upon closer inspection I found five more that just the pointed tips were gone. Still not a bad find. Right? Center - This B with a tadpole was found at another antique shop that was even further away from home. It also has many visible bubbles as you go around the insulators. Some really odd shaped bubbles are next to the tadpole. Makes me wonder whether he is going to be lunch for the snapping turtle hiding deeper in the water ? Left - This Brookfield 102 was found only about 10 miles from home. Still can't wait to be able to take my motorcycle on the longer trips. Anyhow, This little pony has a cracked skirt but I liked the double embossing on the skirt. Summary : For any interested parties, a couple of these insulators will be winding up in the For Sale album soon. Boy, the price of gas is really trying to keep me from going out looking fro more jewels for my collection. The positive thing in this case is that I'm stuborn and I'm not the only soul that likes to see what I'll find next. |
