This porcelain tree insulator was originally used by the US Forest Service to provide phone service to the fire lookout towers overlooking deep canyons here in the Blue Mountains of NE Oregon. This particular example is special to me because the tree also sports an orange diamond to mark the snowmobile trail between Bone Springs and Tiger Canyon.
