Andrew Gibson and I with some newfound toys. I love hunting interurban lines...so I got together with Andrew Gibson and we walked some stretches of the Interurban line that ran from Olean, NY. to the town of Salamanca, NY. The line seems to have used all M-2430 victors from the 1905-08 era... some in pretty tan colors! I found this cool copper trolley wire splice clamp that I decided to keep as a memento myself The line was abandoned in the mid 1920's but considerable evidence still exists including the rail bed in places, bits of hardware broken insulators etc. I suspect the line was hunted ages ago by collectors on account of it's being near an existing railroad with lots of glass, but still it was a very interesting hunt anyhow we had a fun afternoon as Andrew had not been on a hunt in ages . Sometimes the biggest thrill in hunting is just getting out with friends and shairing the exploration regardless of what you find ... Andrew has a very nice collection and some really intresting pieces that I enjoyed seeing .... he just lacks one thing ... Lots of classic porcelain so we fixed the situation by finding some in the wild! :-) Here is what the line once looked like cir-1908 [id=306500031]
