Photo taken along Airport Way. Note the higher voltage line supported by tall line posts followed by primary distribution and secondary distribution circuits below. In addition there are some early 1950s GE mercury vapor fixtures (note how their "paint can" type ballasts are mounted horizontally near the pole-side of their mastarms ...this is unusual). And of course we have LOTS of telegraph and RR-signal openwire towards the right. The composition of the latter is reminescent telephone open-wire rather commonly seen in this country during the c.1885-c.1915 period. And with the old cars and trolley catenary (on the far right) it is hard to imagine a better image of long-gone Americana as viewed here in my opinion ;-) |
