Here for your consideration is the less common smooth-base version of the H.G.Co. CD 162 [010] in dark orange amber. Specific embossing is: [Dome] A//[F-skirt] H.G.CO (note no period after CO)//[R-skirt] PETTICOAT. The dome letter is quite faint and also appears to be double-struck, or ghosted. There is some damage that I've tried to show in the first two pictures. There are three separate clamshell flakes/chips to the bottom of the upper wire ridge above the front embossing extending slightly above the wire ridge. At the left mold line there is a smaller clamshell flake/chip to the top of the upper wire ridge that extends slightly below the wire ridge. Also at the left mold line there is a base chip that spans the mold line and extends about 1/2" up into the skirt with an associated bruise and shallow flake about 2-1/2" long. There are several chips and flakes to the inner skirt, worst at the left mold line and in the rear, along with a few minor tics, pings, and scratches and some nibbling at the based edge mold line. I have tried to be very specific on the damage. See the next pic for the base view [id=305905555]. For character (beyond the awesome color), there is a small bubble below the C in front, a neat bubble in the inner skirt to the right of the front embossing, and another smaller bubble with an elongated oval bubble below it in the dome above the CO in front. It passes light very well and actually displays very nicely at a slight angle from the Petticoat side as you can see here [id=306007454]. Books for $700 - $800. How about $350 shipped and insured to the US? Cash, check, or money order, please. Sorry, no PayPal.
