The last poles standing still in use on what was left of the Yamhill Electric Co. power line between towns, as mentioned in the previous photos. This transposition pole shows the scarce M-3158 multiparts still in place insulating power. But not for long; It was 1953, the location was on the old 99W highway between Dayton and Lafayette, OR. I was a 12 year old kid in the back of the car on the way to the beach.

I was an insulator nut case and I had my trusty Brownie Hawkeye camera with me. I already knew the line was there so at the perfect moment it was, "Dad! Stop Here! Why? I wanna get some 'telephone' pole pictures! OK.....sometimes I think that kid is cracked!" Luckily, I took the photos since a short time later, the poles were replaced. The good news was that I talked my collector friend's mom into driving out there (my dad wouldn't do it) and we picked up 3 of the M-3158's laying on the ground. I still recall the astounding gray-green glaze color shining in the sun when I took this photo.
