A photo of the Willamina Electric Company building in Willamina, Oregon and Brrrr it's cold! The local yokels pronounce it "willa-mine-a". The snow can get deep and wet in this part of rural Yamhill County, OR. and this looks like one of those days! The Willamina Electric Co. was purchased early on by the Yamhill Electric Co. which became a county-wide (and then some) power utility and built a transmission line serving all it's towns using now scarce gray M-3158 multiparts. The Yamhill company was merged into Portland General Electric Co. (PGE), in 1938, and now serves the county today. Looking at this photo, I can feel the chill and dampness soaking my clothes and would want to go inside near a warm fire for the day! Photo from Yamhill County Historical Society. |
