Hemingray D - 518 Flashed amber spool. I counted about a dozen amber spools located within a block of my home, but no where else. I assume the rest of the area is newer . Most all the other areas have been upgraded . I know there would be more elsewhere in the city, but mainly in the older neighberhoods that use secondary lines like these. Two 110 volts and a neutral middle line. These are for residential low voltage lines only. I've had more than 500 of these spools, clear and amber, in the early years of the hobby, but tough to get now unless you know somebody, garage sales, or steal them ..Over the last 30 years I don't think I've found a half dozen of them....in garage sales...elsewhere...and I don't climb poles...

I bought mine from the suppy men in the warehouse after I used to get them from the dumpsters when you could go into the yards in the 1970 era. The warehouse kids saw me so they started to get them and make a few dollars extra from me...The linemen threw thousands of these away over the years and most were probably never recovered. I've asked and only a few would save a couple to keep. Getting harder to find every day now......Enjoy the pictures...
