For the last year after seeing this [id=270499441] I figured this pole line was going to be history. I confirmed later in the summer that it was on the chopping block. I drove by it often, never seeing any indication it was going to be whacked. So I went down to Tennessee for a pole demolition a few weeks ago on a Friday, and what do I find in my email on Saturday? It was an engineer friend who also collects glass, telling me all the poles in Dupo were cut down and were piled up. Darn the luck, as two lines come out at the same time. The Tennessee line was much better, so it is OK, but given the 10 minute drive from my house, this would have been a good source for glass, porcelain, and hardware. I went there on Sunday and found nothing but these several poles that still carried a cable were standing. Their arms were cut off at the brace. All the piled poles were already gone.
