Old pole in Winnipeg using what the lineman often refer to as a banjo arm. Winnipeg Hydro used to use this style of construction around the 1950's when they began using racks instead of glass pintypes for the secondary (120/240V lines). The idea here was so the open wire services would be tapped off of the racks on the ends of the cross-arm creating more clearance around the pole for lineman to climb through.
