Georgia telegraph pole - Lag holes in cross arm

Here is a close view of the lag holes in the cross arm. The arm looks older than the pole, although the pole is pretty old itself. The arm is very weathered and originally was secured to a pole with lag bolts. Later it was drilled in the center and a bolt and large square washer was added. Most of the poles on this section of line were very old and made of cedar.
