Something to do when it's cold outside. I decided to see how many different embossing styles I had in my CD 145 H.G. H domers. After lining them up, I noticed one really stood out amoungst the normal variations. "Seems to be a fairly uncommon" embossing style for H.G. H domes. Given all the piles I have scrounged through over the years, looked at in flea markets, garage sales, online postings and at shows, only yielded one example for me. D. Whitten posted a pic of a stamped H domer in pic poster late in 2010, which is the only other reference pic I have found for one of these. I now have one which I've compared to a stamp embossed CD 151. The 145's embossing has a slight arc to it from side to side. The 151's Drip Date embossing seems different than it's H.G. component. Letters are not even and looks reworked suggesting it is part of the mold and not the stamp process? |
