Cloudy days are normally not the best for shooting, but they do provide opportunities that would otherwise be poor on sunny days. Had it been sunny, the backlighting would have been terrible on this train. Additionally, coal trains running with rear end power provide an extra opportunity to shoot the train. CNTWT 25, Pacific, MO; 12/26/2010. A very cool light greenish vertical bar CD 145 with a lot of fizz came from the line about ten cars back in this picture. At the time, one could drive along the ROW on a dirt road in a field. I asked the contractors tearing the line down if I could have glass, and they said to take whatever I wanted, it was all getting pitched. It was a very easy hunt.
