Up for sale is a fantastic shining clean Canadian 145 in a slightly "off-colour" disposition (no pun intended). It came from a friend of mine that turned it up at a yard sale this summer. This G.N.W. TEL. CO. CD 145 is the [010] embossing style, and is not of the normal aqua or royal purple colours that are often encountered. This one is a fairly obvious two-tone colouration. The insulator has a base colouration of a somewhat normal steel blue shade. The unusual part is the presence of purple swirling throughout the dome that gives the piece a light lavender tone throughout the entire dome. When displayed from the front, the colour separation appears to be exactly at the wire groove - almost as though someone sawed off the dome from a lavender G.N.W. and glued it onto a steel blue base! Unfortunately, the colour does not seem to photograph well, regardless of how well the piece displays in person. I have come across several of these two tones in my years of hunting the lines along which they were used. This is one of the better examples I have found.

One of the most attractive features of this piece is its condition. The only damage appears to be a small area on the rear crown about 1/2" by 1/4" that has about 8 micro flea bites in close proximity to each other. Aside from this small area, there are a half dozen other micro flea bites around the rear skirt, a small bit of scratching on the rear skirt, and a small open bubble on the rear base. It also looks like it was used as a paper weight or door stop, as the base on this one has a uniform wear pattern around it from sitting on a solid surface for years.

I'm asking $48.00 U.S. plus shipping for this excellent two-tone specimen. I accept PayPal, or any kind of personal or cashier's cheque, or money orders. Please feel free to take a look through my other insulators under the "For sale (not sold)" directory, and combine items to save on shipping. I always package well, and have never had an insulator (or pin!) arrive broken. All the best!
