This is the line that services my neighborhood. Three circuits. If you guessed a hawk, you are correct. This guy is getting pretty close lately. I was about 35 feet from him the other day after he landed on the chain link fence. He just looked at me as I chirped at him, tapping my arm.... Kinda neat interaction. Naturally, the kid was still in school and didn't get to see it.

This same line, just one pole back, to the right sits outside my culdusak. Three years back, one of the top circuit lines became detached from its insulator on a warm summer day with high winds allowing those circuit lines to touch causing a loud bang like when a cherry bomb goes off, and sparks for 50+ feet. This went on for 3 hours, everytime the lines contacted. You thought it was artilllery firing. Detroit Edison finally arrived. It just happened that pole has the cutoff for the lower circuits but the entire 3 circuits were de-energized due to the high winds during the repair. They did not replace those lines, just rearranged the lines and attachments ???
