Probably the old #3 or #4 level adit of the Sunnyside Mine I grabbed this piece inside the mine. There were countless driiled holes in the old upper level workings with broken wood and rusted iron filling them. This pin was hanging loose in a drilled hole near the portal I was directed to haul some broken machinery out of. I was 17 ( I lied about my age to get the job; a common act, before the internet messed up the lyin' & cheatin' we done in 1971... Anybody see a "base-tapered-upward" pin like this, yet? It was obvious the pin was bottomed and then wedged with just about anything to snug it?
