Manly Jail Works, their 1800's "Convict Cage"

This could be used either as an early "paddy wagon" or as a mobile jail to house prisoner road work gangs in an "economical, humane and safe" fashion (at least in 1800s terms). Not my idea of luxurious travel accomodations

Note the ecologically friendly, "green", two horsepower traction drive unit.

This photo is on display inside the Dalton Freight Depot museum.

I've seen similar jail-mobiles in some "western" movies.
