I know these aren't insulators, but I thought I'd post this here. These are date nails recycled by a local farmer. The Great Northern used big fat cedar poles that the farmers would recycle into split rail fences. There is evidence of this all along the tracks. Here the farmer used the date nails too on a door hinge. West of Spokane.
