Meet Kim and Renee, aka the "Insulator Gurls". Crazy people and so much fun. From the very moment I met them, I have had a warm place in my heart for these two zany charactors.

How many people get an email saying, "my friend and I want you to teach us how to climb poles, so we can collect insulators" This was many years ago, and if fun, and laughs, and wonderfully happy memories could be stored in cartons, we would need a warehouse to keep them. Did we ever find anything worthwhile on our hunting trips, just a wonderful friendship.

Our two crowning achievments were, 1) both gals gaining the confidence to dig their spurs into the pole and lean back against the climbing / safety belt, and learn to trust their equipment. 2) was the day both made their solo climb to the top of a pole unassisted. I think they each still have the first insulator they picked that day. You should have seen their smiles.

Here we are at the Insulator Ranch Show, Saturday, Sept 11, 2010. Kim and Renee have been solid supporters of the show since we moved to Merritt, and while I may see them only once or twice during a year, that's OK, They are worth waiting for.
