Are you a new collector / hunter? Well here are two fine examples produced by following the advice of those who have been in the hobby much longer then myself. Don't be afraid to ask anyone one you meet if they have any insulators or where you may find some. A good many times you'll have to explain what it is your looking for or educate people but you will never know what you may come home with if you follow this advice. The two insulators in this pic is a good example of what I mean. They are nothing extra ordinary, however, I didn't come home empty handed. The Brookfield CD 127 was at a small antique center with just a few venders. I visited this place several prior times before last Sunday. Usually this antique shop isn't opened on Sunday. I went to the weekly flea market I go to and walked away with nothing. I hate going home emtpty handed myself so I decided I'd drive a few more miles and do just a little more hunting. Hopefully my little wife would forgive me for the extra time I was taking away from being with her. By chance when I approached that antique shop last Sunday they were opened and I walked away with the 127. It did have a crack but I thought it was worth at least a buck and I would now not be going home alone. After this find I visited another nearby smaller antique mall. They had no insulators. However a fellow was at this shop who I had spoken to before about insulators. He freely gave me a lead I might want to follow. I said thank you, good bye and pointed my car in the direction that would take me home. Me and the car were not even on the road for one half mile before I saw a yard sale that I had seen while on my way to the antique shop I had just left. Saying to myself, "What's a few more minutes", I pulled over and looked at everthing set out on the lawn. My eyes didn't find any glass but they located the man in charge of the yard sale who was speaking to his three golfing buddys. They didn't make me wait too long to ask my question. Turned out one those friend had a brother in law who once had a friend who would climb the poles for him and he made a fortune on the insulators they pulled down. I knew imediately that this mans story wasn't going to help me buy any insulators cheaply if the man in charge found any he had out in his garage collecting dust. He did bring out five insulators from his garage. The Pyrex CD 234 was one of them. My pic doesn't show it well but this one has much color. Pink leaning towards red mostly. Lots of silver and gold carnival as well. I didn't clean all the soot off because you never know if another collector will want the insulator just as it is. Do you want this one?

If anyone is interested in either of these insulators they are both being auctioned off presently at the E-place. Do a anvance search of RogerP518. Then click on sellers other items and you should be able to find these two and maybe more you would like in your collection.
