This letter was also taken from the classic book: 'American Bottles & Flasks and Their Ancestry' by McKearin and Wilson. Page 176. Note this sentence: "I shall pay particular, also, to the Manufacture of Glass Telegraph and Lightning Rod Insulators, and to those using Insulators, I would refer them to the Montreal Telegraph Comapny, at Montreal, C.E. for information as to the quality of those I manufactured at my Canada Glass Works, St. Johns, C.E." {C.E. stands for Canada East}. Those CD 740 Foster Brothers tend to be black glass shades too. This is the kind of thing that makes those glass 'lumps' on our shelves come alive!!!
