Back in the early days of collecting these oxblood CD 162 H.G.Co's were called Ruby Red. I can see why the old linemen collectors like Bill Reid risked their lives to get these down. It really does have nice red tones in the sun light. Imagine what it would have looked like up on a pole. Even in the McDougalds book " A History and Guide to North American Pintype Insulators" volume 2, Ruby Red is listed as a color for CD 162 H.G.Co's!
