The photo on the right is a prime example of shape/size distortion when a camera is positioned too close to the insulator or at an angle other than average level plain. The photo on left is a true representaion of size proportionate to the shape seen, and is more easily achieved by positioning the camera 5 to 6 feet from the subject. This setup may not work for everyone, but usually works well for me, unless I'm trying to capture fine detail.... then Closeup and Macro is a must. Now if I can just get a handle on those hard to capture colors:-)
