I stumbled onto a "cut" through the trees that caught my eye. It turned out to be an old pole line right-of-way, which later research proved to be a line a private line built by a sawmill company to a dam they built about 60 miles away. This shot shows how they built up "platforms" of flat rocks they found on site to hold the poles erect. The line used a real hodge-podge of lilly shell multiparts, later multi's, some bizarre early suspensions, Pyrex flappitybacks, and even a modern post type or two found their way onto the line before it was simply cut down and left where it fell. There was some really interesting construction to study. This sight was an hour climb straight up the cliffs!
